Spring Primer

Here
is the rain,

its
warm sting,

spearing

the
senses.

Here
is a rainbow,

pastel
pale,

vaguely

traceable.

Here
is the dusk,

humid
pink,

greyed
to

monochrome.

Here are the

crepuscular creatures:

timid
quivering rabbits,

restless
nesting birds,

slugs
oozing trails,

salamanders
glowing spots,

rising
fireflies

riding
earth’s warmth

toward
the cool moon,

and, spinning, weaving

prey-sipping spiders,

ingesting their webs

with drops

of dawn's dew.
