Olde School

Dear Sirs:

I am writing

to bring to your attention

the dismaying, nay, appalling

absence of letters

in their natural form

of words on paper,

snow white laid, ivory vellum, crinkled gossamer airmail blue,

embossed with letterhead in gold or silver, or not,

embroidered by flowery frames

or stolid, sullen lines of black and/or blue;

in their natural form

of voluptuous words,

unabbreviated, in full syllable, every sound ringing true,

cursive sans curses, Spenserian, Palmer, Zaner and Bloser

ornamented or stark, frilled or placid, gregarious or bashful . . .
